Yohannes Yadagne, the founder and CEO of GOinnovation based in Ethiopia, has a background in Business Management, Psychology and Peace/Conflict Resolution. Additionally, he is certified by the Centre for Creative Leadership’s (CCL) Leadership Beyond Boundaries initiative and is a certified Master Trainer for CCL's ‘Lead for Success’ program. Yohannes is also certified as Life Coach, Speaker, and Teacher by John Maxwell- labeled the number one leadership expert in the world by INC Magazine- and has been a key note speaker and trainer in across North America, Europe, Africa and Asia.
We have deep knowledge of education, elections, women’s empowerment, interfaith dialogue, peace/conflict resolution and research based design approaches to make development affordable, accessible, and scalable.
GOinnovation currently provides extensive leadership training for many sectors across Africa. Some examples include: for the private sector (Haile Gebre-Selassie, Habesha beer, Hilton Hotels); large NGOs (including World Vision, PLAN International Sudan, Digital Green, GIZ, USAID, Catholic Relief Services, CARE, KOICA, CGIAR); international speaking engagements such as the Silver Bay Leadership Summit in New York; at the inter- governmental level for embassies (US, Canadian, Australian and more), Forum of Federation (federalism and good governance), the Program for Young African Politicians (PYPA: in Zambia, Malawi, Tanzania, Kenya Ghana, and Uganda); and as the local partner for the EU-funded program (ECES) supporting the Ethiopian democratic elections among the many stakeholders including: Media, Political Parties, CSOs, Lawyers Associations, Professors, and NEBE. Our team is comprised of multi-lingual and multi-national staff with areas of expertise such as: peace/conflict resolution, law, human-rights, international relations, psychology and leadership. Our results speak for themselves, as we are continually invited back to train for long-term training engagements in each program we provide.
GOinnovation’s programs are known for being creative, participatory, experience-driven, and for driving positive behavioural and leadership change. Our vision is to empower people with tools that are so simple and effective they can immediately empower others. Furthermore, we assess each client or audience and tailor programs to fit specifically with their needs so that it is context and culture specific. We have developed and use research-based methods and materials to accomplish this, where participants are actively engaged throughout the entire learning process, working with one another to span boundaries whether they be gender, ethnic, organizational, hierarchal, mindset, or other limitations, to rise above them and create meaningful change.
Our facilitation methodology is research-based favouring cutting-edge participatory learning instead of more traditional methods (such as power-point or lecture-based methods). It is built around the Assess-Challenge-Support structure: (1) assessment tools to help participants examine where they are and set developmental goals; (2) challenge- oriented, experiential, team-based activities that leverage their own experiences in co- creating solutions; and (3) support through a peer learning and coaching model that enables participants to share their challenges, utilize innovation techniques and chart a course for greater effectiveness. We believe development, success, health, and true leadership begins with the individual. Once an individual can know themselves, they can lead themselves and in turn know and lead others on a larger scale.
